Abstract

Background:

Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (BRONJ) refers to the exposure and necrosis of the upper or lower jawbone resulting from the administration of Bisphosphonates. The prevalence of patients taking bisphosphonates is steadily increasing, consequently leading to a rise in BRONJ cases. Since the initial publication of data on BRONJ in 2003, extensive research has been conducted to comprehend this unique ailment. Although numerous treatment approaches exist, none have emerged as the definitive "gold standard" for addressing this condition. Among the modalities explored for BRONJ, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has garnered attention due to its promising outcomes and enhancement of quality of life, while concurrently reducing morbidity, as indicated in the literature. To validate this, the authors have discussed two cases of BRONJ that were successfully treated using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
