Artificial Intelligence In Conservative Dentistry And Endodontics

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is a blooming topic, as it benefits clinicians with high–quality patient care, and simplifies difficult protocols by providing a predictable outcome. In the past few years, artificial intelligence (AI) has received enormous attention and has emerged as one of the vital drivers of not only the modern medical field but also dentistry. (13)This self-learning system is a statistical method of data analysis and is capable of changing many aspects and helping healthcare providers diagnose pathological conditions, interpret results, and achieve good treatment outcomes. (12) This review article focuses on its current applications in operative dentistry and Endodontics in assessing conditions like root canal anatomy evaluation, determination of working length, detection of periapical lesions, root fractures, assessment of the viability of dental pulp stem cells and predicting the success of retreatment procedures by using different algorithms.
